I Love You, man….

Hey IBYers,

While some of us are on spring break in glorious sunny locales, the rest of us are toiling away at school or at an office, freezing our butts off in the cold weather.  There’s a lot of misery out there all around the world: the economy is bad, people are losing jobs, companies are shutting down and Steve Wozniak is dancing on TV…but there’s a lot to be thankful and happy for as well…we’re all relatively healthy, our friends and family are safe and March Madness is thisclosetostarting!  We’re also glad that we’re here every day with all of our ibeatyou friends and can partake in some many cool friendships with people all around the world.  Before we start breaking out into a rousing rendition of “We are the World”, we just wanna say

I love you, man!

Also wanted to keep you all updated with some recent updates we’ve had on the site the past few weeks:

• More trophies available:  Some of you may have noticed, but there have been additional levels of trophies made available for unlocking.  Woohoo!
• Ability to subscribe to a competition:  For those of you who use RSS, you now can track a competition by subscribing to the RSS subscribe button on every competition page!  Whenever a new entry is entered, your feed will update itself.  This is a handy way to keep up with your competition from anywhere (e.g., Google Reader, My Yahoo!, iGoogle).
• Facebook Connect: Now you can log into ibeatyou with the convenience of your Facebook account!  Keep an eye out for updates… we’ll offer some cool new things you can do with Facebook from ibeatyou soon.

We also squashed a bunch of bugger bugs.  If anyone has any issues on the site, please do not hesitate to let us know (there’s a contact link on the bottom of every page).  We appreciate everyone who’s helped so far!

Finally, wanted to help clarify a few things related to ibeatyou IM and privacy settings.  In your Edit Profile settings, you can control who can see your online status and if you’re reachable via IM from your profile page.  However, if you’d like to sign out of IM totally, you can always select the Sign Out option in the IM bar itself (or choose to be Invisible).  More privacy option help is available here.
