Oh my...looks like the "hack" lost. The whole situation is just a "naivedisaster" isn't it? At least I now know that these "competitions" are a BIG waste of time!

Sorry to the photographer of "peaceful moving river with snow covered banks"... my comments are not about your picture. I don't know why they are going there.

re: peaceful moving river with snow covered banks
I'm sorry I'm having a hard time with this, where I am snowflakes clump particaly on car windows. Even other shots in this comp have micro flakes in clumps. But what I think doesn't matter much really

re: peaceful moving river with snow covered banks
Hattie- The flake was only 2-3mm in size. That means this picture is only in a 8x12mm spot. Plus, it's on the surface of a window so most of the flakes slid right off. Some of them were thin enough to melt a little and then refreeze to the window...:)

re: Wow Snowflakes!
kjhuhtala- The Macro shots were taken with a 100mm 2.8. It's one of the only non L series lenses that I have, but the lens is great!

re: It's a Small World!
Hang in there, Pepe. I love your pictures and have taken away some ideas that I would like to try. Do you use a macro lens at all or is all this straight camera?

re: It's a Small World!
Found this explanation for why MY picture has a round drop. because Long story short...it's because it's such a small drop. http://www.newton.dep.anl.gov/askasci/gen01/gen01429.htm

re: It's a Small World!
I hope I don't have to say this again... That is my front yard in "It's a Small World". It is a single shot taken with a 1Ds MarkII and a 100mm 2.8 macro. I was on a ladder up under my roof for a long time in the cold to get the shot just right.

Per"flake"tion is also a 100% real snowflake! How in the world could this be faked? It is on the window of my Audi...

re: peaceful moving river with snow covered banks
I never expected to have to stick up for my work like this. This is the level of work that my clients expect. I have made a living for years off of portrait work and only do this type of stuff occasionally. Comment continued...

re: Per"flake"tion
This Contest has hundreds of photos, that are better than anything this hack has posted, yet he has 3 of the top ten. Do you change your IP address, then vote for your pics?

re: Per"flake"tion
How is this photo in 8th place. It's not a real snow flake, and there's too much dead space, which takes away from the snow flake. Per"flake"tion, more like Per"suck"tion. There has to be a trick to why this hack, has 3 top 10 Photos.

re: It's a Small World!
Pepe, took your advice, and checked out your other work, and your not that good of a Photographer. Now I know that Small World, is not a real Photo.

I just took a look at the photo I took of melting ice. She is right, it's oval :-/

re: It's a Small World!
Sorry, but as I said before, if this was real, it would more oval, and less round. Nature does not make perfect circles.
