What Do You Think About The New Points Sytem?

The new point system sux, bring back the old one! D:<

My bad, for a minute I thought I was an "IBY O.G." that hated every change. But anyway, I think the change is an improvement & making the group points separate from the overall points will make it so people can't create a small group & rack up the points that way. & people are rewarded for creating popular comps, which is great. So yeah the change is good. (see more)

At first - I was like so confused because I'd enter comps and it's 2pts. I'm like what's going on? haha
Then I found out - I was like okay then you know that's cool I like that we'll get recognition on bigger comps bkuz that is so fair!
Then I saw - Group points don't mean crap. And I was like how can they do that? How will it work? It's all crazee, and I think instead of taking that down, and groups not being noticed, they should've made a group leaderboard before they knocked off the group points all together.
Now - I still think it's a cool idea with it and all, bkuz it makes great sense and isn't fair ! Now it's more challenging yay!

Well, honestly I like how most of it works from what I've been about to figure out so far but I don't like who the group comp points are.

We all know the whole reason that most people make groups are because they are tired of getting voted down & now the only way the earn ACTUAL points is to make or enter a general comp where everybody & their mother can vote you down just so they can win regardless of how good or bad the entries are.

i think it is awesome..i love every aspect of it. i think quite a few people are hiding in groups, entering a million pointless comps that aren't even about competiting, just about points. noone could ever stand a chance with that. i think it's going to cut down on stupid comps that the people who created them are entering multiple times, just for the 5 points. i feel like the competitors and the points driven people are about to be separated which is a good thing. i love some good old fashioned competing, and this site has turned into a joke because of silly competitions. i think the playing field will finally be leveled (see more)

The new points system helps IBY moreso than it hurts; with the old points system, people like Heat_Girl and others were entering in small groups to so they could get as many points as possible. This leads to people becoming overly competitive to the point where it's scary--This is the Internet, people. Also, with the points like this, it becomes more fair for everyone. Although, people still vote based on friendship, instead of based on quality of the post, and then when they loose 11 year old "peewees" down voted them (in their minds...in reality it's because their "friends" weren't there for them).

So essentially, there is no way to make the points system fair. Although, some would be lead to argue that posts should be made anonymously; but the Internet hard asses of IBY (Heat_girl and all of her cronies), will share which posts are theres. Thus defeating the purpose.

I don't really like them...

Group comps don't count w/ your overall IBY rank, and you get 0 points for creating a competition.

And, you get only 2 pts for entering a comp. It's not as convenient as the old system.

Bring back the old one, gotgame/steve/mike/baron davis!

Hmm.. honestly, I stopped caring about winning, points, votes, notifications, groups, etc. a looooooooooooong time ago! Seriously, why care about victory so much here if all you win are virtual trophies and points that you can't even hold? I just like having fun making compazoids and occasionally provoking drama to add excitement to this god awful dull place :)
I used to let Team IBY's actions get to me but I really don't give a crap ass about the site that much anymore for them to piss me off again.
Shit, I don't even share my entries.
Neither have I voted anything less than a 5 for the past year.
And not once did I make a compazoid in IBY LOVE in order to achieve a single point.
To me, it was always about proving it to N0Caffeine who the true compazoid master was!
So fuck your points nigga!
