His name was simply "The Captain". He played keyboards for a redhead named Tennille. Together, they were "The Captain and Tennille". They had several hits in the 70s (Muskrat Love is my favorite) but everybody knows you can't play the keyboards very good with a hook. So...he dropped out of the pop scene for a while until the Prince craze rocked the nation. The Captain decided to dress up in "Prince-like" clothes and be the frontman for a Prince tribute band. That career was literally cut short when The Captain, mimicking his idol in a performance of "Darling Nicki", grabbed his crotch...with the hook. He blacked out before he arrived at the Emergency room and was unuable to fill out the standard questionaire. The nurse found a business card inscribed "The Captain" but she needed a last name. She looked down, saw the bloody hook, and wrote "Captain Hook". When he recieved his ER bill, he liked it so much that he legally changed his name and became a cartoon. Class dismissed. (see more)

His name was Wallowitz Lebowski given from his parents... but people made fun of him so much that he tried to commit suicide... but that didnt go too well because he just waded there for a while before getting klonked on the head by a passing boat and a crocodile tore off his hand before he realized he really didnt want to die and got his hand replaced with a hook and swore to become a big bad pirate to take revenge on those kids that made fun of him.. which explains how he got the hook... and his fear of crocodiles : ) (see more)
