yeah but hendrixs playing was based on the minor pentotonic scale sure van halen is all about a good show but atleast slash puts emption into his playing like hendrix but his playing didnt go far

I don't agree..to me, doing crazy technical riffs isn't the only reason for a guitarist to be good, Hendrix had also an amazing feeling. Van Halen & co are more demonstrative, but a little too much

I wouldn't say "founder", because founders are often just ok, they can't be excellent ex nihilo....Hendrix's music was a high achievemnt of rock!
