competition: Best Way to Ask Someone to Homecoming

I was asked to Homecoming while flying from Kentucky to California with a group of my friends. The pilot came on asking if there was a Megan onboard. I immediately thought I did something wrong. But he continued to say, "I heard there was a Homecoming coming up, and I'm married so I can't take you, but there's a Brian onboard who would love to take you." Of course I said yes and the whole plane applauded.
